Background

Since February 24, 2022, active hostilities in many regions of Ukraine have made it

impossible for the population to do any sports due to damaged infrastructure and the constant danger of air strikes. Since the beginning of the war, more than 300,000 forcibly displaced persons (including children - almost 60,000) have moved to the Kyiv region from other regions where active hostilities are taking place. According to official data, the population of Kyiv and the region is currently almost 5 million people.

Moreover, the majority of IDPs are also deprived of the opportunity to do sports to improve their physical and psychological condition due to partially damaged or completely destroyed infrastructure during active hostilities. In Ukraine, more than 100 objects of sport infrastructure were damaged, for a total amount of damage of more than 150 million dollars.

Many existing objects do not meet the norms of civil protection for safety - they do not have a shelter. All this makes the issue of creating modern and safe infrastructure facilities for the use of all interested parties very relevant and important.
